Heritage Transcriptions - For our military
Keeping families in touch

Our White Knights...
The military and first responders (fire and police personnel) are in a similar position: each day that the person doing the job goes to work, the family back home is never sure of the outcome of the day until their loved one enters that night - or several months later. These men and women are our modern-day “White Knights”.
Unfortunately, there are also times when the person who is so dearly loved doesn’t return to us. The items here will help the spouse and children better understand the life and personality of the one they lost.
Such jobs are needed in our world but also are a major cause of stress, depression and loneliness.
As someone who is close to the military, I am always on the look-out for new ways to help families stay close to deployed loved ones as well as to help encourage those doing our most dangerous and necessary jobs. This page offers special items to help in that effort.
These items may change from time to time and not all of them will be offered by me (although most will be). If you are interested in one of these items or services, please call me to discuss your situation!

Just in Case - Things that ought to be said:

The Just in Case book is one that may take some time to create. There are so many things we want to say and just never seem to get around to. These books are to help say as much of those things that “ought to be said” regardless of what occurs.

Size of these vary according to the individual project. For military and public protectors and their families only, I offer the transcription services free of charge. For those who are doing a self-recording (i.e.: overseas or just out of choice), I offer a list of ideas to help you get started.

The final result will include a digital recording of what is said as well in order to preserve the true voice of the speaker for the generations to come, bringing the messages that are so important to life.
Memories of Our Fallen:

DONATE:
Many units set up bank accounts to accept donations to help with the cost of these projects. Additional funds typically then go to the families in order to help the children or to take care of unexpected needs. Please contact me if you would like to contribute to this process. Spread the word!

These books are meant to be a team effort. They are  to help the children and spouse understand their Mom or Pop after a passage of ten, twenty, or even thirty years; to help the family remember a person they loved and lost. The unit members e-mail or call me with their stories of the fallen team member, offer pictures, and other links of life. These will then be compiled into a hard bound book to be given to the family.

“Memories of Love” books can be a powerful healing tool for those telling the stories and remembering their fallen comrades. For the children who are seeking knowledge about their parent, such a book can provide pieces to the puzzle.

Because of the difficulties involved in creating “Memories of Love” books - distance from the unit, finding former members of the unit, time spent arranging, editing, etc. - these are not inexpensive books. When the cost is shared by members of the unit, the overall price can be minimized significantly.

The families for whom this page is made face unique challenges. The products listed here are specifically for those families. If these projects are bigger than you are hoping to get into right now, also look at our “Families Apart” page for other ideas!
